Hypertension puts you at serious risk for heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and vision complications. For most patients, the cause of their high blood pressure is unknown – when this occurs, this is called primary/essential hypertension. When the cause of high blood pressure can be identified, it is called secondary hypertension.
At I Hart Health, we will determine your condition by using a blood pressure monitor and then perform a physical exam to test for signs of heart disease (if needed). To prevent or control hypertension, lifestyle changes, medication, exercise, and diet modifications in combination our part of our service at I Hart Health. Additional tests that may be administered to detect kidney and heart problems include:
- Blood test for cholesterol
- Echocrdiogram test
- Electrocardiogram test
- Urine test
- Ultrasound for kidneys
