High Cholesterol

High Cholesterol does not usually cause symptoms in patients, but if left untreated, it can lead to serious health risks including heart disease and stroke. While high cholesterol can simply be genetic, it is also a direct result of what you eat and how you live your life.

It’s recommended that people over the age of 20 get routine screenings at least every five years. To determine if you have high cholesterol, our doctors at I Hart Health will administer a blood test, also known as a lipid panel test. If you test positive, our treatment plan includes recommendations on how to change lifestyle habits, medication if needed, and diet modification plans, such as changing to eating a low-fat diet.
